Google My Business Profile: Name/Address Change Process

If you are looking to change your business name or office address, be aware that this can negatively impact your rankings on the Google Map Pack.  The steps below help to mitigate the severity of the impact and should be followed carefully.

If making changes on own: 

1. Define if the change is 100% necessary
2. Update all of your existing password-protected citation sites
   1. Social Media accounts
   2. Zillow, Realtor.com, Trulia
   3. Other Owned Websites
3. Update Google Business Profile with the new business name/office address.  
   1. This happens two weeks after Step #3
   2. This process does not guarantee that account will not see a negative impact.

If using our Google Business Profile managed service:

1. Define if the change is 100% necessary
2. Send the following to support@curaytor.com: 
   1. Existing: Name, Address, Phone number, Website
   2. Proposed: Name, Address, Phone number, website
3. Update all of your existing password-protected citation sites:
   1. Social Media accounts
   2. Zillow, Realtor.com, Trulia 
   3. Other Owned Websites
4. Curaytor will update Google Business Profile with the new business name/office address.
