How do I create a domain matching email?

A domain matching email is when your domain matches the domain of your from address on the emails you are sending out. For example, if I am sending an email from onboarding@curaytor.com the domain associated with that email is curaytor.com.

Why is this important?

Having a domain matching email is important for two reasons:

  • Branding and professionalism

  • Email deliverability and reputation

Email marketing is a powerful tool that can help you stay top of mind, build your brand, and deliver high quality content to consumers. Using a domain matching email allows recipients of your email to associate the content with your brand. Having consistency across both your email and domain also shows a level of professionalism, credibility and trustworthiness.

Having a domain matching email is also a best practice for email deliverability and your email reputation. When you send an email you want it to land in the person's inbox, right? You don’t want your customers ignoring your emails, and they don’t want potential spam landing in their inbox. Using a domain matching email helps to increase deliverability so more of your emails appear in the inbox and less emails are ignored.

How?

If you currently do not have a domain matching email, setting one up is simple. You can create one through Go Daddy or through Google workspace.

If you currently have an account and host your domain with Go Daddy, you best bet is to create a professional business email with Go Daddy. Alternatively, you can create one with Google using Google Workspace (formally known as G Suite).

What happens if I don’t do this?

Your email has the potential to be blacklisted and if that happens, your email would no longer be able to deliver emails to Google or Yahoo email addresses.

It's unclear at this time what remedial action can be taken if your email does get blacklisted as these changes are rolling out in the coming month. However, we want to avoid having any issues with your ability to email.

What Happens Next?

Once you have created the domain matching email, we will need to add the DNS records to your domain. Please contact our Support team at:  support@curaytor.com and send them the DNS records associated with your new email. They will then we able to update your domain records.
