How to: Update Your Social Media Access at Curaytor

With Curaytor's new streamlined process, managing your social media account connections is easier than ever.

This guide will walk you through the steps to effortlessly update your Facebook and Instagram accounts linked to your Curaytor account, ensuring your social media promotions remain seamless.

Here's how it works 


โ„น๏ธ To ensure a smooth experience:


Our Social Onboarding flow simplifies the authentication of social accounts with Curaytor, providing better visibility into errors, edge cases, and configuration issues. However, a successful connection relies on you having proper ownership of the following accounts, which we cannot directly manage:

Additionally, You must have one of the following:

  1. Ownership of a Facebook Business Manager/Portfolio, or
  2. The ability to create a new Facebook Business Manager/Portfolio to consolidate your accounts. The connection flow supports this setup.

*Please Note:  All social connections remain at the company level, enabling you to link ONE Facebook and ONE Professional BUSINESS Instagram page to your Curaytor account.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ  Troubleshooting Tips

Step 1: Access our connection tool


1. Login to your Curaytor account:

  • Navigate to Settings:
      • Go to Settings in your Curaytor account.

      • Either navigate to:

        • Settings โ†’ Basic Details โ†’ Integrations

OR

        • Settings โ†’ Integrations โ†’ Integrations

2.   Start Social Auth:

    • Click on Reconnect Accounts to initiate the Social Auth process.

Step 2: Follow the connection flow

Depending on your setup, follow these steps:

  • If you have an existing Facebook Business Manager/Portfolio account, please follow along the steps to select the accounts you would like to connect to Curaytor.

If you need to create a new Business Manager/Portfolio account, please select:   Create a new Business Manager/Business Portfolio, Ad Account or other assets, and follow the prompts:

Required Permissions:

  • Facebook: Full Control โ†’ Manage ad accounts
  • Instagram: Content, Ads, and Insights

Note: After selecting the accounts, you must go into your Business Manager to share the correct assets/grant permissions for the Ad account and BUSINESS Instagram accounts with Curaytor.

Step 3: You're all set! ๐ŸŽ‰

  • Once connected, the account name and number will appear next to the corresponding item.
  • If you need to update linked accounts, you will see a โ€˜Reconnect Accountsโ€™ option.
  • After connecting at least one account, a โ€˜Test Connectionโ€™ button will appear. Click it to run a confirmation check. Green check marks indicate a successful connection. ๐ŸŽ‰

By following these steps, you can easily manage your social media accounts through Curaytor, ensuring a seamless and efficient onboarding process.

๐Ÿšจ Issue: Error when selecting an account in the connection flow.

โœ… Solution: This is likely due to Facebook permissions issues on your end. Please troubleshoot in Facebook before reconnecting.


๐Ÿ‘€  ADDITIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

  1. Make sure to ๐Ÿ”— convert your Instagram account to a Professional BUSINESS account.
  2. Your Professional BUSINESS Instagram account must be connected to your Facebook BUSINESS page. ๐Ÿ”—  Here's how to do this
  3. Check to be sure your Professional BUSINESS Instagram account is ๐Ÿ”— associated with the correct Facebook Business Manager/Portfolio.
  4. Your Facebook Ad Account - check to be sure there is an ๐Ÿ”— updated payment method there at all times.  
  5. If you setup a NEW Facebook ad account, and run into an issue connecting your social accounts to Curaytor, wait for 48 hours, and try again.
